Atlantic recording group Jet has unveiled
details of a special promotion heralding the release of their second album,
"SHINE ON." The Aussie rock sensations are currently midway though a
whirlwind ten-city tour of North America, with dates running through an
October 7th show at Las Vegas' the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel. "SHINE
ON," the much-anticipated follow-up to 2003's RIAA platinum-plus debut,
"GET BORN," is in stores today October 3rd.
The promotion teams Jet with Verizon Wireless and Los Angeles' world famous
KROQ 106.7 FM for an exclusive "Jet with Jet" contest. The 10-day
promotion -- which kicked off last week -- offers lucky fans a chance to
fly with Jet from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, where they will then attend the
October 7th gig at the Joint, followed by an exclusive aftershow party with
the band.

Providence has announced details of their upcoming tour plans. The
Seattle-based quartet -- who has already logged over 1 million total plays
at their MySpace site -- will release their much-anticipated self-titled
label debut on Tuesday, September 12th.
This Providence are currently wrapping up a major multi-artist itinerary
alongside their FBR labelmates Paramore and Cute Is What We Aim For. The
trek winds up later this month with a September 30th date at Nashville's
Rockettown.
From there, This Providence will team up with June for a series of October
dates as the main support. The tour, which also features Park and Tyler
Read, will kick off on October 13th at the School of Rock in South
Hackensack, New Jersey. From there, the four-band bill will travel the
U.S. through an October 24th show at Minneapolis' The Quest.

Music icon Carlos Santana and the Santana
Band will perform the last of their trio of extraordinary all-star concerts
at the 40th annual presentation of the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival in
Montreux, Switzerland on Wednesday, July 12. Titled "Santana!," Carlos and
the Santana Band will be joined onstage by jazz icon Herbie Hancock,
contemporary R&B star Beverley Knight, horn-driven greats Tower of Power,
alt-star Eagle-Eye Cherry, multi-lingual rocker Draco and more. It is
scheduled to take place at the Auditorium Stravinksi, the largest of the
Festival's three halls.
"Santana!" is the third and final of the themed shows that Carlos Santana
conceived for this year's Festival, all featuring an array of
internationally renowned guest artists, and all paying tribute to the
global musical influences -- African, Cuban, Brazilian and more -- that

the Counting Crows nears, the Goo Goo Dolls are ensconced in a Culver City
soundstage meticulously planning their set, and rehearsing it religiously

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Carlos Santana
will be honored with another milestone induction on Friday, June 23 when he
becomes part of the Hollywood Bowl Hall Of Fame during their Seventh Annual
ceremony. Founded in 2000, the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame, "celebrates
those consummate creators and performers, who, through their talent and
effort, have established themselves as true superstars -- with appearances
on screen, stage, recordings, and at the Bowl -- whose contributions to the
arts have made them part of the fabric of American culture."
The June 23 date also marks "Opening Night At The Bowl," one of the world
famous venue's biggest evenings all year. Carlos will perform on a special
bill that includes Andre Watts, Blue Man Group and John Mauceri and the

A collection of rare historic aircraft from
world-famous flying museums will be on display at Van Nuys Airport's free
Rockin' AirFest 2006 on Sunday, June 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. -- with the
event showcasing the City of Los Angeles' first-ever flyover by the
advanced F-22 Raptor, the world's only fifth-generation fighter jet. Live
band performances, aerial demonstrations, airfield tours and ground
attractions also will highlight the event celebrating aviation's living
history.
"It's an honor to host such a magnificent display of air power that shaped
history during the last half-century," said Van Nuys Airport Manager Selena
Birk. "Rockin' AirFest 2006 offers Los Angeles residents a unique
